Cycling in the area

You have come to the most beautiful area in the Netherlands, for a bike trip. The best part about the surroundings is that the scenery changes and is so varied. You can enjoy the woods, dunes and bulb fields. Moreover, Katwijk and the surrounding areas have a rich history. The ideal place for a relaxing bike trip for enthusiasts of nature, culture and history.

You can make use of several trails that have already been planned out for you. You can download them easily via this page. Every trail has its own charms. Explore the area and visit the best monuments and other graceful natural phenomena. You can choose from various long and short trails.

Long and short trails

For example, do you want to go on a short bike trail, but see as much of Katwijk as possible? In that case, choose 'Rondje Katwijk'. This trail covers the large dune and beach route. The main focus is on Katwijk's town centre, which takes you along some of the town's unique areas. Discover fun attractions and visit the quaintest spots to eat and/or drink along the way.

Longer trails are also available. These trails will show you more of the natural scenery outside of the town centre. Cycle along the lovely lakes and through the dunes in the Katwijk area. We can definitely recommend the 'Duin en Polder' (Dune and Lake) trail. This trail is very diverse, showing you the loveliest attractions and vast landscapes.

You can easily rent a bike. This page includes a few addresses where you can find the different types of bikes. Are you a sporty type? At ATB Katwijk, you can also rent mountain bikes, and take on the challenging trails through dunes and woods!
